[1.1.33] White screen when playing

After starting a new game or loading a saved game (both in freeplay and sandbox mode), the actual world is not shown, and instead only a white screen (with a little bit of shadow at the bottom) is shown.

The main menu's background scenario's display fine. The introduction sequence for freeplay renders fine. The problem occurs the moment you get some form of control over the game.

The attached screenshots are better at conveying what exactly it is that I see.

Hello,
i have the same problem. Since Update 1.1.33

It all works until you're in the game. The inventory can be switched on. The figure moves, but you can't see anything. you can hear the background

I'm having an identical problem. It seems to have started with the 1.1.33 update (the game was functioning normally 4 days ago.)

I am also experiencing this problem.

I was playing a multiplayer 1.3.32 with a friend.

We shutdown the server, restarted with 1.3.33 and he was able to log in and play just fine, I get the "everythings's white" problem that the others experienced.

The menus open correctly, and my buddy reports that I am logged in and can walk around, etc... but all the graphics from the actual gameplay are solid white.

Some detail, I am playing with an MSI GL72 laptop.

I wanted to refresh Windows anyway ... after downloaded Factorio again. No bug atm.

To rule out a graphics driver nexus I took advantage of the fact that this laptop has 2 different graphics cards (the integrated intel graphics on the chipset and an NVidia card ).

I disabled the NVidia card and tried with the built in intel graphics (and forced open-GL mode instead of D3D).
I also adjusted all the in game graphics parameters to the "low" settings. Same symptoms.

Additional log file with the nvidia card disabled below.

Everyone of you has some non-default UI scaling, so try the default.

Holy crap, that fixed it.

Changed UI scaling to automatic (100%) and it's working now.

I can't thank you enough for that suggestion.

Nice catch, with that is was easy to reproduce. I made some small changes and the issue looks to be fixed.

I normally play at 110% interface scaling and this issue still occurs for me at that scaling. Note that 110% is even more non-default that the normal non-defaults so if that's not supported, I can live with that :P

The workaround of using just the default 100% scaling works for me, so thanks Loewchen for the very nice catch on that issue and the suggested workaround!
