Normal Purple filter inserter can filter off more then one thing,
white Stack inserter cannot, Is this meant to be or is it an issue nobody else has seen yet?

It's intentional, because of the large stack size values that a Stack filter inserter can get to. The rationale was that the inserter would have problems with trying to pick up items of type 2 when it's already holding items of type 1. That said, Filter inserters can still get to a stack size of 3, so idk if it's really such a big deal or not.

As a blind guess, I could theorize that this limitation was implemented before inserter stack size research, and thus did make perfect sense at the time.
No idea if it's indeed true though.
