What do Quality mods do in chemical plants producing fluids?

I have a set of plants producing Petroleum gas; they can accept quality mods. What is this doing, exactly? Producing higher quality gas? Nothing?

They would slow the machine, that's not exactly nothing
But they shouldn't be allowed, since they can't produce quality output, that will probably be changed at some point in the future, this is my guess.

I can understand the chemical plant accepts quailty modules since they can produce things like batterys that can have quality. And combined with the abbility to change recepies via circuit network, I guess you kind of have to allow the modules even if the current recepie doen't actualy use them...

Hmm, would a warning to the player that a module does nothing for the current recipe be enough / too much / just right ? (What kind of warning ?)

I would expect the modules the to be put in the output box of the machines alongside unused ingredients if its recipe is changed for one that doesn't qualify for quality module. May be wrong though, because it's unclear to me how it would work if you want to put module back in the specific case where the modules are also the ingredient of the machine.

Dumping them on the ground might (or might not) be better ?
P.S.: Keeping them inside the machine but deconstructing them might be better still ?

See
116424, this is already solved for the next release (by not allowing the modules in the fluid only recipes).

Similarly, what does Quality landfill do...? I managed to produce "Uncommon" landfill; what exactly does that do for me XD

Quality landfill is only useful as a material, if you want to make something else of quality that require landfill as ingredient. Wich is a very tiny slim use case x). There's also quality concrete or refined concrete that would have no effect as a tile, only as an ingredient.
You could decide to make "quality landfill" and recycle it to have "quality stone". Although that is not recommended to me x)

Landfill seems to recycle to itself, so even that won't be possible
