When using Angel's Smelting Patch there is a mod option to have an early steel recepie that is very expensive. But sometimes you just need some steel no matter the cost.

The same could be said for glass, or even more so. Producing glass is much further down the tech tree than steel. But you need glass for greenhouses (or their bioindustries equivalent). Lack of a simple glass recepie makes wood production impossible and means most of the game is spend felling trees.

Please add an option for an early glass recepie to the mod settings.

I dont think the first ore sorting tech is too far in techtree, if i remember right mechanical refining is available from start and costs just 10-20 red bottles.
Just crush some bobmonium, throw it into sorting and you get silicon ore, which you can then throw into stone furnace and get glass.

I never bother with greenhouses though, waste of time imo.

Angel's Smelting Patch disables the simple silicon ore -> glass recepie for furnaces. That is the point.

I have full bobs and angels and i could smelt it just fine yesterday when i tried.

Just so it's clear, the mod in question is https://mods.factorio.com/mods/Florian1 ... y-smelting which disables the simple furnace recipes for smelting.

Thats not an Angel's patch, take it up with the dev of that patch maybe?
