Bidirectional tracks are a great way to connect a far of mine cheaply. But look what happens when you use them carelessly:
Download the world and watch how the train drives. Imagine that happening with a mine a few thousand tiles away. Fun, fun, fun.

This works even better when you add more train stops with the same name in the vicinity.
