However reading the Licence for "Pyanodons" (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) it would appear that the "ND" would prevent anyone from making these icons and publishing them in a mod.

So we are stuck with in-game layed icons unless 'pyanodon' makes the stacked icons for deadlock beltboxes to use.
You are partly correct. As chrisdec already pointed out we asked pyanodon if we could include stacked versions of the icons into our mod. As he is the icons copyright holder he is obviously free to share the icons to different people using different licences. So there is no need to change his mods licence, it is sufficient that he agrees to this usage individually. And he did, under the condition the derived icons are only released under the same licence as his mod (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). So we will include stacked licences into the next version which will release after some final tests, hopefully today.
well yes today ive tested the latest version and i am releasing this now it got my aproval so no further delay

Haven't tracked the full chain down yet, but I suspect what is happening is stacking for pymod is creating the stack and unstack recipe for the organic matter from PyCP, then PyAL is coming through and changing the input when it redoes things for its own biomass, and it is not changing the output of the unstacker recipe. The inventory stack size of the piled up organic matter also doesn't match against biomass, further suggesting some data trickery happening after the stack processing happens.

Likely needs an optional depedency on PyAL, and maybe another file added to shared. Biomass is a tad lighter than organic matter, so an updated icon would be nice polish.

make a generic bag with a seed icon hmm that is actually not a bad idea
the only thing is how to create this bag and recreate it for several items like ralesia seeds

Something generic like that and just stick the icon for each seed on the face and there you be

I would like to propose to move all stacking recipes locked behind stage 2 and 3 to be moved to stage 1.
In my opinion, the main benefit of stage 2 and 3 is the increased speed by using red/blue belts. the recipes themselves should not be gated.

Would you mind adding support for Deadlock's Crating Machine (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/DeadlockCrating) ? Those are pretty similar, but I find the crates to be more balanced.

is this mod no longer deprecated? we removed it because deadlock had deprecated this mod

Hm, it seems to have been undeprecated a while ago. But then again, we got https://mods.factorio.com/mod/DeadlockCratingRevived and a bunch of users (like me) who still want to use it, so I think support would be great. :)

They should both be compatible. If anything, I think the revived version is the safer bet.
