Is this normal? I set everything as low as possible, no autosave, low graphics, no smoke or clouds and no music! I'm playing on a windows 8 on surface (a type of laptop) :?:
If anybody can help please help! :(
For now i'm downloading it in my Imac :D
version: 0.10.0 (I think? It has the one with the mechanical orchestra)

Hello, could you make screenshot of the time statistics? (Press F5 to see these).
Could you specify your system/hardware?
Could you specify what exactly is slow if you can?

Do you use any mods?

E.g. Dytech mod requires lots of resources.

No I don't use mods just the pure, awesome, regular factorio and before you ask, I did try to re download the game and its definitely not a broken processor because all other apps work fine.

Hello, I made a quick search, and from what I found this is the specification of the surface laptop: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-G ... 168.0.html

It has the Intel HD Graphics 4000 (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-G ... 168.0.html) which is the problem I suppose, as it has only shared memory.

We can try to create some lightweight versions of factorio that would work on these kind of machines, but it is not going to work now.

You can see here: https://www.factorio.com/buy that the official requirements is graphics card with dedicated 512Mb memory.

So I'm moving this to not a bug.

But on Mac Mini with Intel HD Graphics 4000 it works perfectly fine.
Probably windows 8 reserves much less video memory?
I think on mac it depends on amount of normal ram.
I have 16Gb of ram, so the system reserves 768Mb for video ram.

Probably, just probably, there is a way to force increased amount of video memory on windows too.
Ask google :)
