Map scanlines cause flickering on LCD screens

When using the map (M) and zooming in, you can see the world if you have a radar nearby.

In this map view you will have scan lines around the borders that tell the player that this isn't the "real" world, but rather that you are in the map view.

I would ask the developers to provide an option to disable these scan lines, because they cause major graphics bugs and flickering that are extremely uncomfortable and as somebody vulnerable to eye strain make it extremely uncomfortable to play this game. I have actually had to pause and stop playing the game because the flickering is so painful.

(turn on HD quality, go into fullscreen mode, and watch the left border)

fyi, this can be changed by mods, and they do exist today.

Then it's a really bad design decision... Makes the edges of the screen flicker when zoomed out, it's distracting and it makes the whole screen feel dimmer and faded.

When you have a large factory, the map is the only way to interact with most of it unless you want 30+ minute travel times.

An option to turn this effect off would be most welcome.

As said earlier, you can use a mod. The devs have selected an overlay for the map view, probably to make it obvious you're in map mode. Can confirm with the overlay disabled I've gotten confused as to whether I'm in map mode or not... :)

Version 1.0 had this static overlay that was really subtle... maybe too subtle...
