Iostreams have some ridiculous performance issues. I did some performance testing long ago and ran into things like cin being some 10 times slower than scanf etc, on every compiler and standard library I tested with. The whole iostream system was designed before c++ became a standard, it's some nasty old stuff and imo should never be used for anything. Although I do admit it's sometimes damn convenient to use the stringstreams...

I'm curious did you compile this with C++03? or C++11? If the latter that is curious. I believe some compiler vendors are already starting to support some stuff in C++14 I'm curious if that speeds it up.

See some pages before: You need to check that option in the game and restart it.

Just a heads up:

If you enable the Trailer Mod, it will change the crafting requirements on new games you create.

All of a sudden my Tier 2 science didn't require an Inserter and my Tier 3 Science requires rockets instead of Batteries.

That was surprising.

Backer names are used for Locomotives, Roboports and Radadars.
I need to get some of those Radadars!

They search for dad's playing factorio instead of bitter bases...

I really like the new Graphics of the Radars (and Radadars) but I have to admit I absolutly dislike the new Icons for the Inserters.

Old Inserter Icons were easy to distinguish but the new ones are too similar the color difference is too low to see it easy.

Oh and I am not sure if I really like the new Icons for Circuits or not... They kinda look completly out of style to the rest of the game atm. Its not really the Comic Style they have its just that it doesnt fit into the style of everything else.

That's right, blue and green are nearly not distinguishable.

In general, simple palette changes aren't good design-wise. There should be a way to differentiate stuff for color-blind folks.

Add burner-inserter to the list. Can't count how many times I've constructed those instead of the proper ones :\

Good point with inserter colors they were pushed for 0.10.1 (actually they were pushed even for 0.10.0 but we forgot to put the graphics in).

I gotta say, this update was amazing! Yes there a few texture things that could be changed but otherwise it was amazing. Especially the trailer! LOVED IT!!!

Hello guys,

i just updated to version 0.10.0 it looks absolutely amazing.
Appears to be improved nicely.

I was wondering if there is a way to change the language in this build?
I would like to use German but was unable to change it .

I decided then to delete all other languages in "Factorio\data\base\locale" exept for de but it still uses English.
Is there a way to get it back to German?

Not at the moment, sorry. There is a bug in the build that prevent that. But it will be fixed in 0.10.1

I just love those car sounds.
It may be not so complicated to add them, but they definitley bring in some immersion.

That's exactly what many said when their models where changed in the world
(Inserters used to look like their old icons, y'know?)
https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... php?t=1184 was supposed to bring the original easily-distinguishable graphics back in, but turned out it would require too much time, which would then not be invested in the game itself

Yeah, same here.
+ three heavy parallel wires on an otherwise empty plate don't feel like a circuit board to me anymore.
They feel more like dumb adaptor boards now
