Water turbines and underground rail tunnrls.

Hi all, I merely wish to propose two addons that can boost the game.

1- HYDROELECTRIC POWER: I know it would be difficult to do since there aren't any elevation or rivers in the game, but I think it is silly to even concieve a nuclear reactor with all that water lying around. Adding rivers and waterfalls to the game will indeed boost the realism of the maps and offer the player a powerful and clean method of power production.

2- UNDERGROUND TRAIN TUNNEL: simply, just as for belts, I think we need to cross those railroads or going under that buch of miners.

What do you think?

Thinking about hydroelectric plants. Map generation could create waterfalls of different dimensions (small, medium, large, huge), spots just like oil patches where the player can build dams. The bigger the waterfall, the bigger the dam and more power can be extracted (and more resources are needed to build the dam (lot of concrete, tubes, explosives, you name it). After the dam has been built, you can attach water turbines to it gain power. Turbines must be attached to the dam, or each other, not to a tube leading to the dam.

So, waterfall is infinite resource, dam is electric mining drill with output of "pressured-water" fluid. This fluid can be used in assembler machine, to product water and "energy-fluid". The water must be used, "energy-fluid" goes to steam engine "water-turbine".
Or something like this.

Well, something even simplier.

Waterfall is like an oil patch. The dam extract the infinite resource "falling water" or "pressurized water" liquid that is consumed by water turbines to produce power. The bigger the waterfall and the dam, the more turbines you can attach to them.

instead of waterfall think 'artesian spring'. could easily be considered under pressure, though you'd likely have to drill for it.

I thought about it, but what should happen if a train stops in underground tunnel? how can player go to them?

Maybe do it so that the train always goes out of the tunnel (on inertia)? Or make tunnels navigable by player character (think Factorissimo, there's already a mod which introduces different "planes")?

You could probably accomplish a train bridge (if not underground) by looking at the concepts that the author of the helicopter mod used to make the helicopter not collide with other entities....

A train tunnel or bridge would be a game changer. Throughput of rail is always bottle-necked by intersections. A mod like this would be very popular imo.

Few ideas for underground trains:

New building: station elevator - when train stops on it, it move it to different surface. (limited train length).
Could be used with surfaces or caves mod.
