Damage to player when hand crafting

That's a mod request for any kind soul 
I would like to play a game, where hand crafting is only used when in a deadlock, like I miscalculated something and I need to craft a few things ... But the rest of the time, I would like to not feel somehow under any obligation to hand craft, because it is wasting a capability I could use.
So the default would be to never hand craft, except if in a dire pass ... And if you do, you lose say 10% of your health per component crafted. So you are not completely stuck, but you just don't do that usually ...
