Is the following view activable with debug settings ?

Image
It would be nice to have it - I didn't see it in debug options I think.

It is “show transport lines”. Klonan said that he was able to thicken the lines by editing a graphic in the game files.

It was colored for the FFF then - in game one is only white/blue for active.

Apparently some logic changes too.

Has zstd (trained) been considered for compression? It offers pretty big gains for the types of data factorio saves consist of.

It came up in the reddit thread for that update:
Rseding91 wrote:Compressor improvements. Specifically; compressing on multiple threads.

And I thought about other compressors briefly but it doesn't matter since with this change compression is no longer the bottleneck in saving. Iterating the world state and figuring out what bits and pieces to save is the bottleneck.
That was in response to someone asking specifically about zstd.

What I'm still wanting is a hot key for the trains gui. I do use it a lot. It's there a reason there isn't a hot key for it?

Amazing work! 1.1. did truly, what was announced. It expanded on features and added technical improvements wished to be in the game before.
Waypoints, fast autosaves, flip and turn; great job.

Can I ask you to provide a save of your 40 hour playtesting base? :)

I want to look at some solutions from the inside.

I didn't know I wanted that until you mentioned it.

Your game updates and FFF articles are most appreciated. I would rather read your articles than watch the crappy news and enjoy your great game. Thank you very much! To the moon! Like GameStop. :D

what does the symbol of circuit network on the right side of all 3 train stops on the right, and 1 on the left mean? it's rather not the "disabled by circuit network" notification, because that looks different for me in 1.1.19.

what does the exclamation mark near the green circuit dropoff's reservation/limit numbers mean?

Reading about the transport line groups made me think how awesome it would be if "linked-belt" could be made to link the two transport lines seperately. That would allow all sorts of awesome things, from classic lane blockers to lane swappers to complex re-routing etcpp. Too bad christmas is already over ;p.

Pretty awesome speed impromvent there though @Boskid!

If not a save file for that test map I'd absolutely love a little tour video of that base. It looks very nice and rather inspiring :)

Love the update, you guys are such good devs

Congratulations on the stable release! Let's make sure the same article writers are informed about the 0 bug status now. If the writers are interested, there are quite many of us here on the forum that would be happy to share a few positive thoughts on the game and the readiness of the devs to improve the game. 8-) ...just to make it a balanced story.

It was great to read the FF, I was having withdrawal symptoms... which are receding somewhat now. I am very curious about the new project. What could it be? GigaSpiderTron? :o

I am also absolutely amazed and super impressed by the willpower of the Wube team to push through rather difficult issues (belts, optimization, etc.) and get them to a new level of effectiveness. Hats off to the devs, you are the best!! Hope your trained brain muscles feel fresh enough for tackling fluid handling now. ;)

11-office-playing-m.zip is at 41h 18min
11-office-playing-af.zip is at 86h 17min

When loading those save files in 1.1.19 there may be some migration artifacts related to transport lines around underground belts, just do not use those saves for benchmarking purposes.

Enjoy :)
