Hi.
First of all thanks for the new update!
I started a new game half an hour ago and the performance is really bad.
A lot of heavy FPS drops and stuttering also some minor UPS drops.
FPS drop from 60 to 28 for like 5 seconds while walking with the character across the map(explored or unexplored makes no difference).
UPS drop from 60 to 55-52 for a few seconds and go back up again.
PC Specs:
CPU: Intel I5 6600k
GPU: GTX 960 4GB VRAM
RAM: 8GB DDR-4 2800
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Greetings
Fuller

Looks like factorio is more demanding than i thought.
Sprite resolution: High --> Low
Video Memory Usage: High --> All
That fixed the problem...apparently a GTX 960 with 4GB of VRAM is not enough anymore

You should be able to make it work on High sprite quality on graphics card with 4GB VRAM with some tweaking of graphics settings and it should work no problem on Normal quality.
Unfortunatelly I have no good advice for universally good options. ... if Quality/Usage High/High worked poorly, High/All might work better, or High/High with lower Atlas texture size ... or High/All with lower Atlas texture size ...

Factorio seems to have a problem with AMD Radeon cards. My (quite) old ATI Radeon HD 3400 will not push past 30 fps on lowest settings even on the tutorial mission.
Iternal DAC (400MHz)
On board VRAM 3053 MB
Probably a driver issue as the last driver AMD put out for the card was in April 2013

I've got an old HD5770. I get a solid 60 fps at 2560x1440. Nearly as old, but the 5770 was a midrange card and significantly more powerful than a 3400.
Are you sure that 3400 has 3GB Vram? I thought the HD 3400 series topped out at 512MB.
