Im playing with a friend in online multiplayer who lives only couple blocks away. I get really bad lag with my character only. Everything else like the train and data runs like a charm. I researched some issues what this could be and ive found that it may be latency hiding.

Is there a way to disable it because it gets really annoying now when we have a big base (about to launch rockets to other planets). Sometimes it takes 10 seconds for my character position to be updated while the running animation happens and other background automation doesnt lag.

You cannot disable latency hiding but it cannot cause what you describe anyway. You are most likely falling behind the server and your inputs are temporarily ignored, for details follow 68653.
