I was curious today and had a look at the size of my save game folder. Admittedly, I'm the type of person who doesn't delete old saves so there are 64 including 3 autosaves and a game ssilk had uploaded. My save folder is 1625 MB.

My most recent save is 64 MB . I'm glad the saves are compressed since the level.dat is 216 MB uncompressed. My current world is rather spread out from the resource spawner overhaul mod and decently explored using advanced radars which I'm sure makes it larger.

How big is your save folder and your most recent/developed save?

127 MB

recent 7 MB (0.10.10) (including some dytech modules)
developed 25 MB (0.10.2)

Mine is 3.56 GB, even I got impressed by that!

The old one 86M and the new one 55M but my new mods folder is 127M.

Thanks to this thread, I found some old version of Factorio at my computer and deleted like 1 GB of old saves. Thanks a lot! My current saves have like 0.5 GB, maybe I will erase most of them. I have a small SD hard drive in my laptop.

Currently clocking in at 2.3GB. And that's with replays disabled.

My most developed save is 28MB (200+ hours) and the current one is just 18MB.


EDIT: corrected save game size derpiness.

How do you guys have such huge saves? I have 13 saves and not one is over 16MB.

I don't. I messed up and put an extra zero on my save game's size. It's really 28MB and 18MB. I'll correct my post.

But I had (and still have a copy of) a 170MB save, before I learned that disabling the replay was a thing.

My largest save file is just under 30MB in size. The total size of the save folder (nothing deleted) is only 264MB in size spread over 15 factories at various stages of development. That's from about 2 months worth of game play which consisted of the month of May using .9.8 and then the month of August with .10.6. Only one of my .9.8 factories was converted over to .10.6. All in all, that's for about 300+ hours of game play in those two months alone or about 5 hours a day...

With 3 major installations of factorio ( 1: no experimental; 2: with experimental; 3: Translation "test-bed") my total is:

• 366 Files
• 3.8 GB

I will need to clean up sometime to remove redundant saves.

1.5GB, mostly archived :-P
Current Factorium is about 75MB/save...

Mine's roughly 1.2 GB in total size. My last save is 141MB compressed and 456MB uncompressed.

My largest single0file save game is 119MB, but my current save is 55MB.
