Reordering of train stops in schedule

When optimizing a train path, e.g. after doing some change to the layout of the rail network, it would be really useful to be able to reorder train stops in the train's schedule.

Currently, one has to delete a stop and then re-create it and hopefully not screw up the conditions. Instead, there should be buttons "up" and "down" next to the list of train stops in the train's menu, moving the stops one place up or down, respectively.

FWIW, this same issue is still bugging me years later -- having recently rearranged the stops in a schedule with about 20 stops in it...

This was implemented a while ago. Look carefully at the train gui:

The striped surfaces (my highlighting in blue) can be dragged and dropped at a different position:
  • the entire GUI window
  • stations
  • waiting conditions
If you look carefully, also scroll bars have this striped surface indicating that you can move them with the mouse.

Ooohhh I never noticed those stripes. I can confirm that this work. Thanks. :-)

It's not very easy to figure this out though, I find. But I am not entirely sure what to do about this either...

Changing the mouse pointer to an "hand" icon might do the trick.

Just in case...

You can also use Shift+Right click on a train to copy its schedule then Shift+Left click to paste it onto another train.

FWIW I agree the UI here is suboptimal. I didn't know those entries could be dragged at first either.

Maybe it's the placement; I think if that grab bar was on the left it might be more obvious what it was for. Changing the cursor when you mouse over it also sounds like a good idea.

I'm not sure, but at minimum you'd have to include user_id (as I've done above, so you can tell me if this gives you a notification). You can do eg.

and that works fine, so I heavily doubt that the username alone would be enough. (You can also see this in that it doesn't link the user in that case.) One for Koub would be eg.

For that matter, it might work without a username at all - I can't notify myself, but I wonder if something like the following would work:

[Koub] I receive no notifications, but I read all the posts, so it works anyway :). Moved to implemented.

I came here to figure out how to reorder the stops. I will agree, that a hand icon over the draggable section would make it more intuitive. But I have noticed that the game doesn't change the mouse's icon in any interface anywhere.

An easier solution to implement would be to have the drag-bar portion of the stops light up (turn yellow) when you mouse over it, just like other parts of the game. It might not be totally clear what it does at first, but people will be more willing to tinker with it, and discover its usefulness that way.

Sorry for reviving a 3 year old post, but I think my idea will help the game
