I'd have to guess someone has already complained / suggested a change for this so apologies in advance.

The new chest graphics leave something to be desired in showing some contained items in "Alt-mode".

Please keep track of your issue, and whenever a minor update fixed it, post a bug report if yours remains on topic.

This has been implemented. There is quite a large black background now.
