Quite often, Factorio.exe is executed just to change the mod config. Slowest computers can take up to a minute loading sprites. What if we could skip the loading of sprites? We would just need a button (disabled by default in the settings) or a shortcut.

The menu, background, fonts, even the cursor is a sprite. That's simply not possible.

If you're restarting that much and the speed is of concern; reduce the graphics quality from "high" to "normal" and it will reduce how much has to be loaded.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't know about the menu sprites. It's still great to be able to play Factorio on my notebook (Intel Pentium N4200), I would have never imagined possible to beat Krastorio on it. It really tells something about how well optimized the game is. I can't wait to enjoy the new HD sprites!
