Resource Config Documentation

Is there documentation for the resource config data structure? I couldn't find it in the mod files, the mod page, or this forum.
I want to adapt my mod to work with RSO. Copying settings from one of the basic ores won't do what I want: the mod uses a custom noise function so that the resource's availability scales with distance and it becomes scarce later in the game.
