This is a very simple artillery outpost with no other defenses other than Spidertrons that are standing still shooting rockets at enemies that approach automatically. The blueprint i used has some walls that indicate where to put the spidertrons, after you place them you need to remove the walls since they will definitely get destroyed without helping at all. And that is because the rockets the Spidertrons use are... explosive rockets! They are placed in a safe distance from the roboport that resupplies and heals them if needed.
The spidertrons themselves are full defensive ones with no exosceleton, since they won't be moving much anyway. From various tests i made this seems to be the most effective type of defense that i tried, and quite easy to set up or move as well. The only negative is the amount of Spidertrons needed, it is not an option you should consider unless you have production that can make a lot of Spidertrons automatically with ease.
