I think spidertron patrol mode is useless for defending. You have to take into account, that spidey just dumbly walks its route, no matter if it just walked by a horde, that was about to attack the base.

I was thinking of finding new nests on the route and destroying them.

I would still love a sheduler as for trains, and I would love to have a loading/unloading station, or the ability to set logistics requests.

Yeah, but never played it. Looks like a lot of fun and about what I would want to have. I used to have a lot of fun with AI-Vehicles, before spidertron came along, but nowadays I play unmodded mostly.
I have your mod on my list of things to try, should I start a playthrough with mods.
