TL;DR
Add either a Tips & Tricks entry or, as standalone or in addition to it, a factoriopedia blurb/description blurb about this mechanic.
What?
The radar has a very useful mechanic! It transmits signals across a surface, on a globally readable connection. And this is told to the player... absolutely nowhere, except an old FFF from 8 months ago. (https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-402)

A little blurb, such as "Can transmit signals from a circuit network across the entire surface." in factoriopedia/tips & tricks would likely do.
Why?
Things players might not normally expect or know should be documented!!! Things you think a player will pick up on should be documented anyways!!!

Great idea. Lots of hidden things like this but this one isn't something you'll accidentally discover...

I suggest to add the standard circuit icon on GUI: if you see the icon you know you can connect the radar to circuit.

Even the humble wooden chest has the circuit icon and the read-only checkbox that explains what it can do when connected to a circuit.

Hmm yes, maybe there could be two seperate checkboxes, on to send signals via radar, and one to receive them? (I haven't had any reason to have a uni-directional radar, but someone else might find it useful)

Bump!

Radars still don't have any indication that connecting them to a circuit network actually does something. And I do wish they had the "Connected to: ###" text that I can hover the mouse over to view the circuit network contents.

Alternatively, I guess they could work like power poles: No GUI, but hovering the entity shows the red and green circuit signals.
