With the Factorio 2.0 update it is no longer always possible to see a production history of your force.

This is because when surfaces are deleted, their production statistics history is removed from the Global statistics view. This is (mostly!) a harmless fact for the purposes of vanilla, but matters in mods like Pirate Ship in which the player travels from island to island as old surfaces the players will no longer return to are deleted for performance reasons.

This is either a bug report or a feature request depending on the meaning of 'Global statistics' in the statistics tab.

Thanks for the report however this is working as intended. Statistics are tied to a given surface and if that surface is deleted so are the statistics.

Off-the-cuff question with no research, but can production statistics of surfaces be directly read/edited by the modding interface?
