Bob's Enemies = Huge 9k HP Titans early game??

I started a Space Age game with Bob's Mods and a bunch of others. Large swarms of Uncommon and Rare enemies are attacking my base on a regular basis. These enemies appear to have ~ 10x the HP as base game enemies. Titans with 9k HP, spitters with 4k HP. Every attack they make damage or destroy the walls and eventually break through without frequent intervention. I have Turret MK4 and Sniper turrets MK2 as well as Lasers MK3. I have two rows of gun turrets with lasers mixed in. I have ~ 20 Assember MK3s on Piercing ammo, and they cannot keep up with ammo consumption.

My base is getting squeezed in through attrition because the enemy attacks are so strong. I'm starting to run out of resources, and I'm pretty sure I cannot design an outpost to withstand these attacks based on my tech level. Is this intended? I started making Plasma turrets from the Alien Artifacts, but the power consumption is so massive my coal power just cannot keep up. I need to switch to nuclear, but I don't have the resources to make the switch. So many resources and time are being spent just on base defense.

It appears to me the enemies are leveling up too quickly. I checked the mod settings, and I don't see anything I can change to tone it down. There is no way I can ever leave this planet with out strong the enemies are.

Am I missing something here?

A list of enabled Mods and/or a save-game to look at, would certainly help us understand what is going on. The enemies are supposed to provide a challenge, and it sounds like they have succeeded. :twisted: It may be that your Pollution output is leading to more enemies being Spawned than the bullets can kill - in which case starting-over may be the only option.

Some ideas to try:
  • Deploy Efficiency modules as soon as they become available - this will reduce the Pollution-per-bullet.
  • Start on a different planet - although I am not sure if this is feasible with all of the Bob's Mods extras?
  • Adjust the Terrain Generation parameters (Water Scale/Coverage) and randomize the Seed until you get an "Island" or "Peninsula" start.
  • Ribbonworld (non-infinite Map Height) can also reduce the defense complexity, because you only need to guard against invasion on 1 or 2 edges; not a complete perimeter.

Check if you have adjusted any Mod Settings from the defaults; in particular:
  • Bigger enemies sooner
  • Health increase
  • Leviathan spawn frequency
  • Enable super spawner
