[StrangePan][2.0.69] Crash while loading old save (MTLRenderCommandEncoder::drawIndexedPrimitives)

I managed to take a break from Factorio for 6 months (I know!), and came back and wanted to load my Space Age Peaceful save from 8 months ago. Updated Factorio (via Steam) and adjusted mods to just the base SA mods, and load my save and it crashes.
Log and save attached.
After some messing around, I managed to open the save on my laptop, which it opened, and updated a bunch of things, then save it back and transfer it back to my desktop where it now opens.

Looks like I spoke too soon. It played for a few minutes and then crashed. Looks like the same crash in the render.
So maybe this is a macOS Sequoia or Mac hardware related crash?

OK, it crashed again in the main menu while not even in the game.
Thanks.

Hello,
This is a very strange crash… if you can, could you take a moment and update your OS to the latest version of Sequoia 15.7.1, and see if that fixes the issue?

I did command-F, then I typed "l" (which appeared) and maybe “u” which did not and the game crashed.
No mods except SA.
Autosave attached which was 4 minutes before the crash.

Seems repeatable.
I reloaded the autosave, did the few things that had gotten lost, and then saved, and the command-F, l, u crash.
Tried again, Command-F, a, a crashed.
Tried again, Command-F zoom right in, no crash, zoomed out, crash when I type a character.
Seems to crash if I am zoomed out far enough to show pollution.
Even if I turn off all the map options (pollution etc), it still crashes.
Not sure what else to try.

OK, I restarted my Mac and the issue was resolved.
So it looks like something is getting itself in a state where a restart is required to clear it out. this seems similar to the previous crash I reported.
There are no other issues on my Mac and generally I would never restart my Mac, so this is quite unusual.
