Background

I made a mod (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/zzz-bloos ... 6ba2131fbe). My first version accidentally had the “space travel required” flag. The next version fixed this, as the info.json no longer has the “space travel required” flag, and space-age is not a dependency. This was updated a month ago.

The bug

If you search this mod (https://mods.factorio.com/search?query= ... ersion=2.0), it displays as a space age mod (requiring DLC), which is no longer correct. If you filter mods based on if they require the DLC, my mod pops up. Both of these behaviors do not reflect the current info.json (which I just double checked).

I believe this tag is simply not being updated based on the most recent info.json.

You need to explicitly state "space_travel_required": false, in your info.json file for the change to take effect.

Compare the info.json for the two versions of the null mod I just created to test this behaviour. After uploading the second one the Portal instantly removed the flag from display.

I can't reproduce the issue. Uploading the first two versions of the "BLOOSH GOOSH" mod, clears the space age flag on my testing environment as well. Your issue might be related to a problem we had with search index synchronisation in December and is now fixed.

Thank you. I fixed BLOOSH GOOSH myself with eugene’s suggestion (space travel required: false, instead of blank). It worked for me perfectly.

This behavior still applies to other mods with the same issue, such as https://mods.factorio.com/mod/machine-u ... rom=search. This mod also started with the space travel required flag, and info.json was updated on a later release to not require it. This search query incorrectly shows the mod as requiring space travel: https://mods.factorio.com/search?query= ... ersion=2.0. Be mindful that this mod is marked internal. So… I cannot tell if the issue is only resolved for mods made in 2026.
