[2.0.73] Crash when I have Chrome and OBS Studio open

I'm not sure what triggers the crash other than having both Google Chrome and OBS Studio open at the same time as Factorio. To my recollection this doesn't happen with 1 or the other open. And, normally happens when autosave initiates, but not exclusively. I have made sure drivers and bios are up to date.

This seems to happen once per session meaning: This morning I have played for about 2 hours, no issues with just the game and chrome opened. I opened OBS Studio (it does happen in the inverse, obs already open and i open chrome), then a minute or so later when the autosave started, the game crashed. Now, historically speaking, I won't experience another crash until I restart my computer

I left that text because that's what i thought was happening. But I just did another test. I close and reopened chrome and obs while factorio was running. I started the last good autosave (one at crash was incomplete and corrupted) and then tried to do a manual save and it crashed again.

I am currently running a Space Exploration mod pack. I do not recall if it happened with vanilla Space Age.

I am sorry I cannot be more specific. I'm not sure if it's even a Factorio issue, but I don't know how to troubleshoot it further. Mostly just looking for ideas on what to troubleshoot next.

The crash is in some cleanup code after saving is essentially finished which means it successfully went over everything to save and is now doing book-keeping to finish. This suggests everything was correct when it went over it and between that and cleanup something corrupted the memory it was using for book-keeping.

That suggests bad/failing RAM to me. So I would start by running some form of memory tester (there are many of them and no single one passing is a guarantee that the RAM isn't bad).

Thanks for the info! I'll get some ram testing done. My pc is a circa 2018, so I wouldn't be surprised if one is starting to fail. Would high ram utilization cause similar issues? With all 3 running, I run about 85 to 90% utilization. Ive been wanting to get more for a hot minute, but of course with AI, its the worst time financially.
