Space Exploration Extreme Entity update time usage

Hello,
recently I've been having huge frame freezes caused by massive UPS usage of most likely Laser turrets. It is most noticeable on the Space ship when destroying asteroids, and in much smaller size during regular biter attacks.

In here the average is 100-200 updates, which makes the Space ship unusable due to the flight taking 10x longer just because of UPS.
During biter attacks, the freeze lasts around 0,5 seconds, so its just little bit annoying.
It seems the issue occurs right after the last target the turrets can reach dies.
Is there a way to somehow remove this issue, other than avoiding these mechanics completely?
(gun turrets in space have the same issue, with very slightly better performance, haven't tested rocket defence systems yet)
