[Demo 0.6.4] Window remains minimized

Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me reporting a bug on the demo but it's keeping me from enjoying the demo and from having confidence that full version will work on my machine. This game comes highly recommended from a friend so I'm very interested in trying; I suppose that's evident - otherwise I wouldn't be reporting a bug for a demo :-p
In any case, my problem is that when I run the program it remains minimized in my taskbar as though the window is off-screen. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit so I get a live preview when I hover over the icon like this:
However, I can't get the window to display through normal means (alt+tab, click icon, win+tab). I was linked this resource: http://superuser.com/questions/377279/w ... preview-ok. Win+Shift+Right or Win+Shift+Left didn't work for me but Win+Right (dock to the right), Win+Left and Win+Up (maximize) did. The problem with these options is that they alter the resolution. So once I get into the first level, it looks like this for me:

I suspected this wasn't correct so I asked my aforementioned friend and they confirmed that this wasn't how it was supposed to look. So that's where I stand. I can get it to a maximized window but the resolution is messed up and it all just feels weird and it's hard for me to play. For the record, I started by trying the "MS Windows (64 bit exe installer)" but I also tried "MS Windows (64 bit zip package)" and "MS Windows (32 bit zip package)". All of them behave the same. And here's my machine:
