No idea why it happened or what might have caused it.

What version do you use? (installer /zip)
What system do you have?
What is the location of your save game folder?
Didn't you run two Factorios at the same time?

Installer.
Windows 7.
C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\saves.
No.

I would like to ask more:
Did this happen just while playing? (probably autosave related)
Did it happen again?

This problem should be solved in 0.4.0, when read/write problem appears while making autosave, the error is written on the console, but the game is not interrupted.
