How do you do the Trans-Factorio express Achievement?

I've googled it and can't find anything. I've tried using the ghost planning for tracks, still at 0/1.0k, I'm stumped.

The Trans factorio express achievement only unlocks after you have an actual train driving that distance (or pathing it). It's not enough to just build the railroads for it, the train has to drive that distance.

If you actually had a train drive that distance and not get the achievement, please make a Bug report, include your savefile.

Ok, thanks for your response. I can't even get it to change off of 0, I ghost the track with shift left click, go out a long way, then come back and drive the train down the tracks and my bots are laying the tracks, the count does not change, stays 0. Does it only work before your launch a satellite? Anyone know of a video showing this working? Maybe I'm still doing something wrong. This is a no mod game by the way, just got the lazy achievement yesterday on it..

The train has to be driven automatically, i.e. you have to set up two train stations 1000 tiles apart from each other and have the train go between these two stations. Manually driving the train there doesn't count.
It doesn't matter if you do this before or after you launched a satellite.
