Patch Note from 0.15

Fuel type now affects vehicle acceleration and top speed.

Anybody has some more detailed Infos ?

Whats the best fuel for the Train and more... maybe some numbers like this: Coal: Max Speed: XXX ...

Check the ingame tool tip for fuel and rocket fuel

Unfortunately, you can't insert nuclear fuel into the tank or the locomotive.

That would have been cool.

top speeds are 272 km/hr for solid fuel and 297 km/hr for rocket fuel
