[0.16.36] Gsync causing fps drops

When I have my gsync on my fps just randomly drops below 30 until I refocus on the game this happens like every other minute. Disabling gsync solves the issue but I would like to have my gsync on at all times to avoid toggling it while switching games. I have had this exact same problem on another game that was locked at 60 fps and disabling gsync helped on that game too. I know that you probably can not lift the fps lock but could you at least try to make gsync less laggy.
