[0.17.24] Screen tear

With 0.17.x i get sometime screen tear what 0.16 didnt have. the line goes from up to down in the middle of the screen.
The missing part from the middle is shown on the left side of the screen.
No other game or program does this.
i use windowed mode
win 10
asus gtx 1080
screen is 27" 2560x1400 144hz

Can this be captured in a screenshot or is it strictly a visual glitch?

Is vsync enabled? What orientation is the display in?

Do you use vga or a digital connection (dvi, hdmi)?

I had the same bug on a brand new screen. A restart of the computer solved the problem, restarting factorio was not enough. MSI GTX970 GAMING, up-to-date drivers, and a NVidia sync display (34 inch LG 144Hz 1440p), connected via Display port.
Also, when factorio was quitted the behaviour still persisted in Windows 10, after reboot of the PC it was gone and has not appeared again.

I did some further research and apparently this bug is caused by NVidia G-Sync, possible not related to Factorio.

have to try and disable g-sync
