Edit: It just occurred to me that this may be in fact because on the yellow belt the previous item may be blocking the placement for a couple of microseconds and this adds up over time. I'll leave this open nonetheless, just in case I'm wrong. Otherwise, please feel free to lick this thread.


If you have yellow inserters and researched stacking, they will operate faster when placing items on red belts.
