With the following setup, I get the following graphical "flash" when I am zoomed out slightly
I cant seem to recreate it with part of the blueprint.

Looks like the shadow of the splitter is sometimes drawn over the underground belt. Does that happen on only one zoom level or several different zoom levels?

It seems to happen from fully zoomed out to about 50% zoom in.

I cannot reproduce this with any tier of belt. Would you mind providing a logfile and maybe a save so the devs can take a look at it?
In the mean time you may try to play around with the graphics settings. For example, try to change the checkbox on "Use flip presentation model". As its description says: "Try to toggle this option if you experience graphical glitches or framerate issues."
Might only be available on Windows with the DirectX renderer.

Flip presentation model had no effect (was already enabled and turning it off made no difference)
I dont seem to be able to attach save as it is too big

You can attach a save via google drive or dropbox.
