Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox

to most easily compress 2 blue belts or 3 red belts to half a yellow belt, stacks of 6 items (instead of 5 items) would be useful, but 6 is an ugly number when you want to adjust the stacksize of compressed items (most stacksizes are 50, 100 or 200, and not multiples of 6). Yeah, this was all like ...

Trying to learn me some Blender. That is some steep-ass learning curve.

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

It is quite literally a problem that the devs themselves have raised. Really? The devs said that it's a problem that a few players are bored of bots? Must have missed that. I thought this was about belts competing with bots in the late game, but clearly I've misunderstood. Maybe it's not really a p...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Which bit of "en masse" was hard to understand? I wasn't talking about individual players or modders. I'm talking about mass brain farts like this thread. A game developer would be insane to take much notice of it.

[0.16.22] Crash when removing splitter after modded loader

Searched and can't find anything that looks similar. Mining a modded loader and then immediately afterwards mining a splitter that was facing it crashes the game, but only when in this orientation, not the other three directions: http://i64.tinypic.com/27wsy79.png This is an irregular crash, it does...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox (& Compact Loaders)

Hmm I just got a crash right away after starting to use the beltbox and compact loaders, happened after placing then removing a splitter, loader, beltbox and loader (then removing them again, in reverse order) and then the game crashed after removing the splitter again. I did not have any power bei...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Are we still flogging this dead horse? "Bots are boring". Go and do something else then. No-one's holding a gun to your head. This is one of the best and most open-ended sandbox games ever made. Bots are fine. Belts are very slightly underpowered. Loaders would have helped a lot, but peopl...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox

Is it only me or green and purple bleed onto the belt but normals don't? (Using masks is much easier I guess?) The belts poking out of the loaders come from whichever 4x or 5x mod is being supported. Bob's Logistics doesn't provide HR belts so they look gnarly. FactorioExtended is ... well, all ove...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox

Got colour masks working. Never need to make another icon or sprite again. http://i65.tinypic.com/kec8k6.png Version: 1.3.0 Date: 06. 02. 2018 Changes: - Beltbox sprites and icons reworked. They are now separated into layers and masks, saving VRAM and allowing for any dynamic colour without needing ...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox

FactorioExtended? Yeah probably. Different colours, different names ... sigh. I will take a proper look later in the week and think about using colour masks instead of rainbow sprite sheets but in the meantime you could always use 2x red/blue beltboxes and then a FactorioExtended splitter to merge ...

Re: Request: more access to render layers (e.g. loaders)

A workaround I am using in Bulk Rail Loaders is to have my functional entities have no sprites, and to create "simple-entity" or "simple-entity-with-force" entities with custom render_layer in the same location using scripting. It's not ideal for entity count and hence performan...

Re: Request: more access to render layers (e.g. loaders)

Is it possible then that underground belts and loaders could be put on the same layer as other "machines" with a vertical aspect like assemblers, furnaces, etc? They seem to be on the same layer as belts, which makes sense as they are clearly belt-like, but belts are flat on the ground. Un...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] Deadlock's Stacking Beltbox

Reading the info on mods.factorio.com I see you aren't intending to add recipes using stacked items. Any particular reason why not? a) I don't think it makes much sense. Granted, things don't have to make sense all the time, like how I can't make a lawnmower engine with my hands but I can craft and...
