As in the tile, the status of an inserter is inconsistent before and after mining and rebuilding it. If it says "waiting for space in destination" and you mine it and place it in the exact same spot, it will say "Waiting for source items" regardless of the existence or nonexisten...

I technically "fixed" it by overwriting the save with an autosave.

Looks like a corrupt save file (did you have any modded spidertrons?), not out of memory.

No I do not even have a spidertron. I guess I might have made it confusing by saying current mod list which implies the mods are active instead of only including renai transportation and disco science.
