I still don't see how that would not get stuck in case of (temporary) lack of 1 item type. Smart inserters can't detect what's on the belts, so you'd still have more of the other types going to your factories. What belt types are you using? If a set-up like that ever runs out of one of the ingredients, you end up with a stuck system because the other types of ingredient block it.
