Re: Accumulators are too cheap
I think the "Cost" should be in the charging... I was researching batteries (Again) recently, this time nothing to do with factorio. Did you know it costs 150% of the energy to charge a NiMH battery than it actually stores? For example, if it can store 3000Ahs, it takes 4500Ahs to charge ...

Re: Accumulators are too cheap
I would love to see some kind of lossy early game energy storage like flywheels take the current accumulators place, and then have the current accumulator moved up the tech tree and made significantly more expensive to make.

To get full cocmpression on a single blue belt you need to use a splitter to combine 2 into 1 if you are loading it with insertersMisterSpock wrote:yes, but in real its ~ 25 or less cause, the lack of compressionLordFedora wrote:Isn't blue ~30? i thought it was 3x yellow

Re: One minute rocket defense
I'm trying to figure out why the unload stations use requester chests. Does the fact that a bunch of coal is requested to a chest keep a fast inserter from bringing other things into that chest? I'm pretty sure its just to pull out any ores that somehow end up in the logistics system get brought to...

Re: train pathfinding
I could be very wrong, but I was always under the impression that for trains to use mutiple stations with the same name, they have to be aligned like this
==============X=====
==============X=====
Where X is the station
==============X=====
==============X=====
Where X is the station

Re: Friday facts #94 - No 0.12 Release today
Ha, no at this point I dont think they will ever make it. Which, honestly, would be the best if I had to decide it. Because how is Valve supposed to meet all the expectations the players may or may not have accumulated about a sequel that has been rumored for more than 10 years. Right... they can't...

Re: My First Factory (Opinions)
Pretty good for a first factory but there are a lot of inefficient things here. 1)If you put your iron ore on one side of the belt you could put your coal on the other side of the belt and then just add regular inserters and they would grab which ever they needed(you could do this with your copper ...

But sooner or later the UPS will enevetably went down to a point where it's not funny anymore, because of the mass of entitys and pat...

Re: Let's see your clever builds
On the topic of belts, here's something I came up with that I suppose there's a chance someone else might be interested in. While it is somewhat large and unwieldy due to the extra bits of track needed to cause side-loading, it is smaller than the first two versions I tried. The purpose is to accep...
