The tooltip for any kind of chest should show if there is a limit defined for the chest.

Currently a chest tooltip shows its contents in the form "Storage: <used stacks>/<chest capacity in stacks>". An iron chest could show "Storage: 10/32" for example. To verify if a limit is set ...

I also miss the old feature of right-clicking to create a tag. It was way faster then the new one.
Another approach could be a configurable hotkey to create a tag. If a new tag already had a valid title it could be possible to accept this (double-tap the hotkey) and place the tag first if time ...
