well, assuming you don't need speed you could (currently) just use a smart inserter in place of a belt...admitedly you'll have to set the filters. But it would be faster to have belts that do this (or even extreme speed inserters...). Kinda makes me wish that the electronic circuits could be used to...

Then you bypass the rocket turrets for the bases with regular gun/battle turrets :)
Or (since they are exactly the same right now) mod the game so that your rocket launcher has just a slightly larger range than the rocket turrets:)

what do you mean they'll be saved on the computer? I know some of the older versions did but at least the new 2.10 is set by default to save within the current factorio directory (when using the zip). I know this because, the saves for the factorio I use for testing go into factorio\saves.

Hey, since I'm certaintly no artist (nor do I have too much experience) I figured I'd post on here and ask for someone that does have experience to post a tutorial on creating good graphics... The main reason I ask is because I was trying to create a quick animation for a forge and I just plain fail...

Nice work :) And I agree it'll be nice when what we choose to research/produce has more drastic effects on what we are capable of doing. It will happen eventually I'm sure :)

I'm sure more advanced mining methods and power generation are coming eventually, until then you'll pretty much have to use mods (I'd highly suggest F-mod if you are capable of playing with it right now, othewise wait until the creator's computer is fixed and get it when it's working. I want to say it goes off your fps, if so i'm sure there are programs that would allow you to limit the fps until the game itself allows for a change of pace.

Personally in the long term survival style, it makes more since to retain research in my opinion (most people would make notes about what they were doing while conducting research after all). But I agree that it does require thought right now as to whether you really want to start a long research :)

F will increase the resources but if you are trying to get a huge amount in one spot, I don't believe that there is a way to add alot at one time. You'll just have hold f down until it's at the level you want, or try using lua to add them in.

Yeah but it got a bit repetitive gathering 1000+ artifacts... at least now i can cut out the ..eat fish..craft new armor.. part of the cycle :) and without having to string 2500 blocks worth of power poles to use laser turrets (with the same effect of no damage). I have 320 solar panels and 51 steam...
