Rebuild or Restart?

I was just wondering what the general consensus is on this: do you rather to rebuild your factory upon discovering a flaw, or instead to start again fresh? I have barely experienced mid-game factorio because I've always restarted upon finding any flaw with my factory. I felt that it was more work to...

Re: What are the most impractical items in Factorio?

A lot of this (obviously) weighs on experience and playstyle, which is probably why I have some of these opinions: I've restarted so many times before getting far into a run because I found something I could improve on my factory, and would rather to restart than rebuild. But in regards to some item...

Definitely not alone. I can't tell you how many times I unintentionally press Q in Project Zomboid and screw myself over.

When you press Q to clear your cursor but instead drop your pickaxe/scream and summon zombies/etc.

Surprised no one's said this yet. I'm not the only one, right?

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)

Factorio easily has a high replayability value among the games I play. 800+ hours in and I can still dive into a 10+ hour play session, and I find so much joy in designing a factory. There's always something you can improve, something you can streamline about your design (maybe I'm just bad). I have...

Re: Building the Main Bus

Okay, I figured so. normally to increase throughput I either make faster belts or I make sure I'm cramming as much crap into the belt as I can, so the items make it down the belt past the machines using them, for example, copper plates. I don't have enough mining drills to increase ore throughput to...

Re: Cutting trees manually is like zen meditation :)

Are there anyone else who enjoy chopping trees manually soothing and calming? I do :) I hate doing that. All the wood piles up in your inventory, wasting space. Just shoot them with the car or the flamethrower or something. So much better and faster. Boxes are godsend. They're pretty good, but I'm ...

Building the Main Bus

Hello all, I was wondering if any of you that experiment with the bus style of building have any suggestions for late game issues with throughput?

Re: Deathworld Rampant, launch a rocket yet?

I'll have to try it sometime...but not after I officially launch a rocket in a default world. And then a normal death world. It's all about gentle progression of difficulty.

Re: What I adore about this game

This is how my base looks like now. Yet no rocket launched but I researching yellow (?) sciencepack pretty soon  That's about where I am technologically. Artillery has been the closest tech I've gotten to launching the rocket. Also, you have some creative names for your trainstops, haha. And...

Re: What I adore about this game

Each time I learn something new, I start over. I've started over more times than any of my friends who play Factorio (which, admittedly, is only two), and more times than I can count. I try to build as organized a factory as possible, organizing the bulk of my belts into a main bus with other produ...

Re: Just bought the game; What were Your first impressions?

My first impression? All I can remember are my thoughts from each time I started over. I had started over five times within the first week of playing the game. Each time was preceded by a thought of "Holy Hell! This is a great idea! But I don't feel like rebuilding everything..."

Re: your thoughts on menu simulation

Well, though I prefer the calmer simulations, I kind of enjoy the biter combat simulations; they add some contrast to the "pastoral" scenes. I'm fairly quick to go on the offensive, so I suppose it suits the game (or, at least, my playstyle) well.

Re: There is something wrong with music

Well, my only problem with the music is that there aren't many tracks. It got repetitive and stale within the first 150 hours, now I just put whatever playlist I care for on the side. None of that is to say that the music is bad; I personally believe that it suits the atmosphere of the game wonderfu...

Re: What are the most impractical items in Factorio?

I have never used a speaker. I tend not to make uranium munitions : nuclear rocket, nuclear ammo, nuclear shotgun ammo. By the time I’d invest in these, PLD are on the scene. I do not automate Burner Miners, but I will (early on) automate assembly of Burner Inserters, Boilers, and Steam Engines. I ...

Re: What are the most impractical items in Factorio?

tanks are great bulldozers for forest cleaning, when you setup outpost and railroad through the forest, before you have construction bots and appropriate armor with bots station They are pretty good for clearing a path through a forest, but normally I just gun down the trees; I only drive through t...

Re: What are the most impractical items in Factorio?

The problem with the fluid wagon I found was that oil patches become practically infinite with speed up modules and pumpjack productivity. So there's no need for something like training in oil from afar. Maybe someone has discovered something different, but that's been my experience. Likely the fac...

Re: What are the most impractical items in Factorio?

Pistols.. In vanilla, pistols have a recipe for both manual and assembler crafting. But I can't think of a single scenario where either would be used. Every time the player respawns, they get a pistol. How would you ever actually really need to build another? If you drop it on accident? What about ...
