Prometheum (as well as all the asteroid chunks) have a stack size of 1. This means that even a stack/bulk inserted can only hold 1 chunk at a time.
To increase my prometheum storage, I’d have to make the ship longer to fit in more belts.
However, storing prometheum inside the asteroid collector ...

Well.. that certainly is a spaghetti abomination..
It took me quite the analyzing just to comprehend how the belts worked, and a lot of it is still a mystery to me!
If I were in charge of naming that ship, I'd call it "the flying spaghetti monster" (or something along those lines ...

Re: Rocket weight capacity
Maybe quality could decrease weight, legendary halving weight seems appropriate and not overkill.
Quality items by their very nature are denser. What I mean by this is, for example, a single legendary crusher (unbeaconed/unmoduled) performs the duty of 2.5 common crushers since it has a ...

Extra update: checked on the server, and I'm experiencing no lag on Gleba any more.
Should be safe to say that updating my drivers fixed it!
Thanks again for the advice!

Re: [2.0.22] Travel source/destination icons don't change on shattered planet fly condition.
I just stumbled into this issue in 2.0.23.
Really confused me for a minute cause I was like "I have not been flying for 18 hours, I should not be anywhere close to the shattered planet".
Not sure what exactly caused it, but I'd guess being focused on the ship when the shattered planet fly ...

I had uhh, not realized that driver updates were a thing.. (hadn't thought of it, and the notifications to tell me about them were disabled. Not sure if that's a default thing or if I changed it at some point.. The checkbox is certainly ticked now though!).

[2.0.23] Gleba lag caused by animated water
Hi, I've discovered another semi-minor issue!
I was playing on a multiplayer server last night and went to Gleba. It was the first time anyone had gone to Gleba on that save file (not sure if that's relevant, but mentioning it just in case).
Once I was there, I started getting severe FPS drops ...

Re: Ability to craft lower quality with higher quality
Interesting thoughts DefGie!
My own opinion on quality has changed a bunch from what I’ve said in my previous posts in this thread, and I am slowly coming to enjoy it the way it is. By viewing things as logistical challenges, I can apply my factorio engineering skills to solve them!

Re: Ships that can get to the shattered planet
A beautiful looking ship, and a hard fought adventure! A hearty congratulations to a fellow explorer of the deep depths of space!
When you say 6000k promethium storage, do you mean 6000, or 6000000? My ship can store around 23000 (technically only 22700 safely), and it looks like I have more belt ...

Designing ships yourself with as minimal influence from others is perfectly understandable! I do the same :D To me, the design phase is a big part of why I enjoy Factorio so much!

Re: Ability to craft lower quality with higher quality
Can you imagine the patch notes? "Quality has been completely overhauled. It is strongly recommended to tear down everything you've built that involves quality in any way, to avoid inadvertently wasting your quality items."
As if that hasn't happened before..
As an example, the change in fluid ...

Re: Sort asteroid chunks to the bottom of hub inventory
One implementation would be that you cannot remove cargo bays such that you would have fewer available slots than filtered slots (similar to how if there's stuff in the cargo bays you can't pick them up).
I can see how that can lead to frustrations, but from a mechanical point of view, it would ...

Hmm, mayhaps?
I haven’t done the math on recycling vs downbinning in terms of effective resource loss, but it’s certainly possible that downbinning is more costly than recycling…
I might try to crunch those numbers a bit to see what it comes out to.

Re: Create customized upgrade/deconstruction planner directly
+1 to this as it compounds with being unable to open the inventory in map mode, making it so that if I want a one-time blueprint/upgrade/decon planner, I need to put it on my hotbar.

Re: Ability to craft lower quality with higher quality
Another thing to consider with quality math is how it works with productivity.
I've noticed that when the productivity bar completes at the same time as the main crafting bar, the output quality will always be the same (in all the cases I've observed at least).
In an example, let's say we have an ...

Re: Sort asteroid chunks to the bottom of hub inventory
Being able to filter the hub inventory would be good for other things as well, such as reserving some space for biter eggs and promethium packs in my shattered planet ship so that the influx of shards doesn’t clog up everything, forcing me to empty some slots by some means. (And yes, I know belts ...
