[2.0.15] Stack inserters do not respond to stack size change
As the topic title says, stack inserters do not respond to their stack size changing while waiting for items. If a stack inserter is waiting for an item while already having a few in-hand, it does not respond to the stack size being changed. This will result in situations where the stack inserter is...

Re: Friday Facts #413 - Gleba
Looks very cool. My secret hope for the "biological" planet is that the science made here will culminate in taming / controlling some sort of alien beasts and then bringing them back to Nauvis as a factory-friendly counter to biters.

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
This sounds brilliant and absolutely needs to be a mod if it isn't already, even if it's just the simplest possible case of the beacon shutting down above a certain temperature. For me, this would make beacons an actually interesting endeavour, as the current drawback of power draw actually becomes...

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
Hello! I think the overall changes to beacons do sound like an improvement over what we've got in 1.1, but I have to admit I'm also a bit disappointed that all this amounts to is effectively a tweak on numbers rather than some more fundamental change to make beacons more interactive or in-depth some...

Re: Friday Facts #392 - Parametrised blueprints
This is a nice feature to have. I kind of 'worked around' this problem up until now by having a main BP of a build with temporary configuration and then a set of simpler BPs which just contained things like stations, combinators and so on with specific settings on them. In practice I'd paste the mai...

Re: Friday Facts #382 - Logistic groups
Cool stuff! The platform construction animation looks amazing and the logistics groups feature makes a lot of sense. I can only say that I hope we also get something similar for train schedules, since having to change schedules on each train individually right now is a huge pain if you have more tha...

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
I see a 30 UPS and 2 40 UPS results for the 11600k, big differences once again, same CPU this time too. I wonder if it's just different RAM settings, or what? One CPU being 33% faster than another when they're the very same model is not something you usually see in benchmarks.

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
Here's that map, I got 48 UPS: https://factoriobox.1au.us/result/d43fda89-b364-430f-8586-09f485ece27e I also ran it in a Windows VM on another computer I have with a 5950X (the VM was the only one set up to run Factorio), I got 29UPS there. Makes sense with a 5800X3D getting 41. I don't have a link ...

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
Very interesting that the game uses 125GB when loading if it actually has that much memory available. No wonder it took me 20 minutes to load and plenty of swap.

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
Thank you very much for testing my map. You're welcome! And yet, with 128 GB of memory in MacOS, the map loads in 2 minutes ... Yeah, I'm not surprised, loading the map was a real struggle. It's interesting to me that Factorio seems to need more RAM to load a map than to run it, once it settled it ...

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
Good results, thanks. They confirm that the heavier the map, the smaller the discrepancy between the top Intel and AMD, and sometimes Intel is still ahead)) Sure, no problem! Perhaps the game is becoming more and more memory bottlenecked when the maps get larger. I'm only interested in UPS when I'm...

Never used factoriobox before. Here are the results: First map 96 UPS https://factoriobox.1au.us/result/058f4c7b-2d38-4ac8-bcc1-e26c022fb777 Second map 38 UPS https://factoriobox.1au.us/result/6a7bb2b3-580d-4dae-ac08-624248eaf204 Third map 88 UPS https://factoriobox.1au.us/result/24b39793-352e-4327-...

Re: Best CPU available: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D?
I got a 7950X3D a few weeks ago and have been tweaking things while benchmarking Factorio. I've been keeping track of the results for myself, but now I've found this thread and perhaps somebody else would be interested to see them. I've been using my own map for testing, so these numbers are only re...
