Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
In the Space Factory movie, I feel something strange about the scene where the turret instantly revives after the destroyed foundation repairs itself. Unfortunately, the repair robot can't fly, so there's nothing we can do about it. Looks to convenient huh? Like nanites or something. A better optio...

What the other planet them will be... one can only guess one will be obviously winter themed, and the final boss one will be Greenpeace themed with loads of anti democracy biters. Mazbe even the place they come from.

damn that was a rollercoaster... reading "RTS tool" as a RTS i fan was stoked! "wohooo! i can now controll cars and tanks with it too?!" turns out, you can´t, it´s just a very VERY MISSLEADING name for an" ONLY SPIDERTRON controll item". new players or those who have n...

Uhm... I dunno if I like having just one transmisison channel for wireless signals. I mean, it's still better than none, but having at least 2 would be better imho. At least, I'm using 2 in my games... because like everyone I have 2 cable colors running through my railways. Yes, I'm one of those wei...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
We all know that something fishy is going on on the small islands. I guess the unique planet resource can be found there. Given the unique challenges of the new planets (start from 0, mountains / lava / swamp restriciton on vulcanus, disconnected islands and thunders on fulgora) I wouldn't mind a de...

However, when I devise solutions to scale up holmium ore production, I have the same question regardless of what you say. What do I do if I have an unhandled excess amount of anything at a large scale (targeting an average of 100 holmium ore per second)? Voiding is not the answer to every problem a...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
I would rather consider building most of the factory where you will be having infinite resources. Like Vulcanus for Iron/Copper based stuff. Fulgora seems to be good for Oil because of the oily sand. There is no "infinite" resource in the sense of place miner once and it goes on forever. ...

I do hope (and actually expect) to be proven wrong though! Well from the info we have so far it looks that each planet has a unique advanced resource needed for a unique science pack and another basic resource needed to build the unique high tier assembly machine (foundry, electromagnetic plant) an...

Thank you for your condescending reply, I could not have decided myself to buy or not to buy the expansion. I would have bought the expansion even if I did not like anything in it, simply to support the devs, since I have been getting pretty solid content all those years. Funny how you also do not ...

I've also been thiking by seeing the tar patch twice, that since it's likely that we will enable petroleum recipes oil by separating sand from oil, perhaps it can be that also on Navius the pollution will start to have more direct effects on the map than just the cloud and the color of the water. An...

It's funny if they really do add a Lightning Rod as a power source because a single Lightning Strike on Earth has only enough total power to run a Lightbulb for a Day and that is it. That is what high Volts and low Amps gets you, after all Humans have proven to be able to survive a Lightning Strike...

We can recycle stuff in 2.0. So ofc a relic world plenty of alien stuff to recycle makes a lot of sense.Leviticus_24 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 7:53 pmAnyone notice the Ore-like debris within the ruins of the city? Maybe a new way to mine alien tech or scrap?

No chance to appear taller as it should not be taller than underground belt. You have been told already about dark magic applied. Or how can you have car/tank/train/silo in your pocket? As I said it's not a matter of realism but visual representation. Dark magic or not, how would you reasonably dra...

Stupid question... all items can be stacked? I mean, I can see how a circuits or plate can be stacked being flat items. I have harder time imagining a battery or a barrel that is a tall one... unless you change them to be horizontal. Stuff like solid fuel that is cubic can also work but they should ...

Was thinking, among the planet types you evaluated, have you ever considered a tidal locked one? Like a planet where you have to connect the sunny desert side with the night frozen one through the lush monster filled stripe in between? It could become a the "train planet".

OMG, love this. All I ever wanted to do with trains in vanilla.
I also like the hint to interrupt and new planets. It allows me to fantasize of a world with environmental hazards and train schedules that have to adapt to weather conditions. Something I'd really like to see.

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava
wondering , how foundry will get heat in liquid form in Navius, like it gets from Lava in Vulcanus. (May be steam , but no foundry works on steam.) Maybe power consumption will depend on the recipe? Or the ore -> liquid recipes use regular fuel, so it's like a smelter with extra steps in that case?...
