I would like the same thing. It's fairly ugly. It would be nice if it was a setting in the interface settings.

I'm still getting this issue in 2.0.43. I checked detailed info, and it was sound instances going up to around 235 (I had increased limit to 256 in the-rest settings). On the latest version of Factorio, left-clicking a cooling tower ghost from the latest versions of the Pyanodons Hard Mode set of mods replicably triggers a segmentation fault on a brand new save.

This would definitely be much more dynamic at its core, making it feel like the DLC added a brand new system, a new aspect of recipes themselves, instead of what's currently basically just a set of auto-generated recipes.
