Re: Friday Facts #393 - Putting things on top of other things
Love it all. Great job devs! Now I'm hoping you'll give the filter inserter treatment to logistics chests. Clear up that inventory!

It looks like it belongs to an evil faction, like if a dead engineer was resurrected by the bugs.
If I saw that in game I'd think I was invaded Dark Souls style.

Re: [Experiment] Unloading 4 compressed blue belts per wagon.
You can extend it to 6 wagons by repeating the first/last wagons pattern and you get the actually requested 4 belts per wagon. Or just use a non-standard train design, like 1-2-1-2-1-2 or 2-4-2-4. Locos inside the train give plenty of space for construction. Though every time I look at these design...

Re: [Experiment] Unloading 4 compressed blue belts per wagon.
@Slayn: - Not extensible beyond 4 wagons - Not enough throughput chest->inserter->belt* 1. If your train is longer than 4 wagons, getting it in and out of the station before your 6 belts empty the buffer is a bigger problem. 2. Outputting to a splitter doubles inserter throughput. Outputting to a s...

This design does not produce compressed belts in practice. All original chests are drawn from equally and are lane balanced L...

Inserting efficiency modules past 80% cap
Inserting efficiency modules via ctrl+click should not insert additional modules once the 80% hard cap is reached. I.E. (assuming no modules already in structure) ctrl+clicking with eff1 in hand would only insert 3 eff1 modules, ctrl+clicking w/ eff2 would only insert 2. If a module is already inser...

Re: Flying Robot Frame should require plastic instead of steel
-1 Plastic is already used in huge quantities for red/blue chips. And cargo arms made from plastic would break under the weight of carrying an assembler, or even an oil refinery :P Iron is used in equal quantities for red chips and greater quantities for blue chips, but you got me with the other po...

If you guys do go the stack belt route it might be good to add a checkbox to inserters to only cycle for full loads.

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
I'm split on beacons myself. Nice having late game goals but yeah often times I find them more tedious than fun (for belts.) To be optimal you have to use "the layout" which kills direct insertion. Also when you're restricted to 2 squares on either side of the assembler you can't achieve i...

Love the changes to splitters especially the priority functions. TBH I'd rather have a filter on electric mining drills than splitters though.
