Re: Achievements won't register (14.21)

Just crafting the locomotive will not give you the achievement, you have to actually place it down.

Try Creative Mode: https://mods.factorio.com/mods/Mooncat/creative-mode
It does add a lot of other stuff too, though.

Re: Mod Directories

A --save-directory command does not exist. But why do you need one? One save directory should suffice. That program also didn't work correctly. It created a 0.14 directory in my mods folder with more 0.14 directories about 20 folders deep and then crashed. Let me guess, you selected your existing mo...

Re: Mod Directories

There is a --mod-directory command line switch. ;)

But if I may make a suggestion, this is easier than multiple directories:

Version 1.4.0 released

Factorio (non-Steam) can now be updated in the version manager. Added Russian translation. Improved modpack GUI to highlight subitems. Optimized search algorithm. Do only update Factorio non-Steam versions through the version manager. Ingame auto-updates are not supported and will mess things up. U...

Re: Option: Grid While Placing Item

This is a great idea.
This feature has been in the last 4 Anno games and was quite useful for me, I can see it to be the same for Factorio.

Re: factory production queue time instead of quantity

I don't see how this can be a problem for you, for me inserters can keep up fine. Of course if you speed beacon the hell out of a wire + green circuit assembler it's going to require and produce a lot of items so the regular inserters obviously won't cut it. It's intended to be that way. End game te...

You have less than 2 GB of RAM? If so how does Factorio even run (it has a mimimum requirement of 2 GB as well)?
Greenplanet wrote:what to do if this happens?
You can always download old releases directly from the website. But I don't see a reason why 0.13 would vanish from steam.

No problem, thats just what you have deal with when using unofficial ways.

Re: Strange behaviour of console output

It most likely is. As I said, the '>' operator does appear to not work at all with factorio.
The output seeems to be not redirectable.

Re: Multilevel construction

I guess this could be done with modding as there is support for multiple surfaces in Factorio (see for example Factorissimo). However, as I don't have any modding experience I can not tell how difficult this would be. And even if someone would create this (which would be totally awesome, please do :...

Re: Strange behaviour of console output

we call AttachConsole(-1) Alright, that probably explains this strange behavior. Funnily enough I'm using exactly the same hack in my mod manager but I didn't know it caused this problem. What do you need to detect update stage for? Well, I really only need to detect when the update has been applie...

Strange behaviour of console output

So, it's me again with another automation problem (this introduction would have fit perfectly into the gameplay help aswell, lol :D). My plan is to automate the updating process of Factorio from within my mod manager using --apply-update. To know in what stage the update process currently is in I am...

Re: No more 32 Bit Multiplayer?

You really think I want to uproot my entire PC, install a different OS, find 64 bit versions of ALL the software I'm running and re-install ALL of that? Just to run a single game? Seriously, that's just as good advice as telling someone to get a new car because their 2nd gear doesn't work anymore. ...

Re: Make underground pipes only 1 tile longer, please :)

Sounds like you want Longer Underground Belt (Aligned) but for pipes.
You can look at how this mod does it and create a mod yourself or suggest this to the author (it sounds like a feature that would fit this mod quite well).

Re: No more 32 Bit Multiplayer?

Does Factorio even run on these CPUs though?
From what I can tell non-64bit Atoms don't fulfill the minimum requirements of the game.
