Can i just state how awesome it is that you squeeze your code for performance like this when just about any AAA studio goes "meh, they'll buy better computers" instead.
Or just leave their engines horrible messes like GTA 4...

The point at which a Robot runs out of power is strictly deterministic. Yet they fly until they are low, then (situational) TURN AROUND towards the nearest Roboport. Make Robots follow the Roboport net on long paths
If your Logistics Network happens to have anything but a cubic shape, robots fly over "uncovered" area, run out of power, and crawl long distances towards the nearest Roboport.
I suggest Robots "path" via Roboports until they are in the destination cell, in which they can beeline.

Same, win7 x64. Sometimes it does not crash but get stuck (eating infinite memory too, it had over 13 GB)
